GMI Group on LinkedIn: 73,201 Impressions From a Flange Maker's Weekly Post

By Amanda Leon, founder of OilMoney.io. Houston-raised, came up in the Houston marketing team of Vallourec, and has run Unrth, a brand and growth studio for oil and gas and industrial companies, since 2017, with her boots on client locations in Midland and Odessa. Last reviewed November 5, 2026.

GMI Group makes flanges, fittings, and pipe in Houston. By its own account it started in 1984 under a tin roof in Humble, Texas. Its LinkedIn page published its first post with Unrth, OilMoney's sister shop, on January 6, 2025. By April 30, 2026, the page had earned 73,201 impressions and 1,420 reactions, posting week after week. Here is what that looked like, and what it does and doesn't prove.

The Numbers

All of these come from LinkedIn's own analytics for the company page, and all of them stop at April 30, 2026, the end of our window. We count nothing after that date as ours.

  • Whole window, January 6, 2025 to April 30, 2026: 73,201 impressions and 1,420 reactions.

  • 2025 engagement rate: 9.2%, which LinkedIn put at 23.2% above the competitors it tracks for the page.

  • New followers in 2025: 399.

Those are company-page numbers for a manufacturer, and we'd read them that way. A flange maker doesn't need to go viral. It needs to stay in front of the buyers and suppliers who already have a reason to care.

What We Posted

Most weeks, a post went out on Monday. The calendar stayed close to what was really happening at the company:

  • The new facility, as it went up. Construction updates, a time-lapse, racking going in, and the floor moving into production.

  • The companies joining the group. Anniversaries of the businesses GMI had brought in.

  • The products. Spotlights on items such as cushion tees and heavy wall reducers.

  • The history. The story of how a Humble distributor grew into a group with a global footprint.

What Got Read

These drew the most impressions, by the LinkedIn exports we hold. The figures are rounded, because the exports were pulled at different times:

  • "One Year with Buxton," on the anniversary of a company joining the group: about 3,300.

  • "The Bones are Bringing in Business," on racking going into the new facility: about 2,100.

  • "New Facility Under Construction": about 2,000.

  • "One Year, One Team," on another anniversary: about 1,750.

  • "Did you know that GMI Group and Maass Global Group were joint forces?": about 1,650.

  • The very first post, on January 6, 2025: about 1,600.

Look at what's on that list. It's people and growth: who joined, what's being built, what's next. The cushion tee spotlight did respectably at about 1,400, but no product post cracked the top six. That matches what we found reading 98 oilfield sales posts from individual sellers, where posts about people drew more reactions than posts about products.

The Posts Live on GMI's Own Site Now

A LinkedIn page's feed only shows so far back. So in October 2026, we brought most of the page's posts onto GMI's website as a Recent News section, with their original dates. That's the part I'd point any owner to. A feed belongs to LinkedIn. A page on your own site stays yours.

What We Won't Claim

We don't have a revenue number for you, and nobody should trust a case study that guesses. We can't tell you a post closed an order. We can show you where the name showed up and how often people stopped for it.

One more signal comes from another company in the group. Wilhelm Maass, a German manufacturer supplying the patch, hears about its LinkedIn presence from its own customers.

What This Means If You Sell Into the Patch

A company page and a person's profile do different jobs. The page is how a business shows it's alive and growing. It's what a buyer finds after hearing your company's name. Your own profile is how he comes to know you. If you run a sales team, here is how we think about the people side. If you own the company, start with what we do for service company owners. More client results are on our proof page, including Hondo Resources on the search side.

Get Your Bison Walk-Around

If a buyer searched your name tonight, find out what he'd see. Send us your LinkedIn. We'll send back the Bison Walk-Around: five minutes of plain English on what's costing you callbacks and what we'd build. No call. No invoice. We give first. Get your Bison Walk-Around.
